Authentic Mexican & Central American Food
La Calera Mexican Bar and Grill was the brainchild of three best friends: Fidel Valdovinos, Adi Karamcheti and Luis Manuel Mejia Sanchez. They had often discussed opening a restaurant where the focus was on great food combined with a bright, welcoming and warm atmosphere.
La Calera is a small town in Michoacan, Mexico. The literal translation of the name is ‘limestone quarry’. It is also the hometown of Fidel Valdovinos.
At our McMurray location you will be welcomed by our wonderful murals. They range from images of La Calera itself, as well as the town of Periban, Michoacan, La Catrina and images of life in rural Mexico. Also be sure to ask about our unique ‘Taj Mahal’ mural, with a Mexican street scene in the foreground! We are located right off of Route 19 in McMurray on Center Church Road.
If you come to our Baldwin location, you’ll immediately notice the large space, friendly staff and of course excellent food! We have multiple options. Take a seat at our bar and take in a game with a burrito and a beer. Or come in with your family and have a great meal with a large selection of items to choose from on our expansive menu! We are conveniently located right on Route 51.

It was fun coming here for the first time! The happy hour is amazing and food is very good. I had Coronas and lime which was great for happy hour and ordered the spicy burrito which was very good. I liked the chips and salsa as well! Ulysses was a great bartender. I will definitely be back again!

Couldn’t asked for better service and meal! Everything from the drinks (especially my HUGE margarita), complimentary chips and salsa, dinner and dessert was excellent! Service was outstanding also. I have no idea why we haven’t gone prior to tonight but 10/10 recommend.

This was a true delight! The atmosphere was very authentic. My server recommended my meal and it was great!!! I had the El Salvador Pupusas! We were there during Happy Hour. I had a 20 oz Margarita, yummy! My husband partakes in the taco Tuesday event. He enjoyed thoroughly! What we loved the most were the prices!!! Definitely add to your list of restaurants to visit!

Best churro I've ever had, and I'm from Texas where I've had lots of authentic Mexican and TexMex food. I really appreciated their Central American options and enjoyed the Salvadorean pupusas and Honduran carne asada. My fiance loved the seasoning of the beef in the Texanas fajitas. Great chips and salsa, excellent alcoholic and non alcoholic beverage options, and amazing service. I recommend the Watermelon Jarritos and Peach frozen margarita. The inside is also beautiful and spacious with a great atmosphere. My family and I will be back.

Staff always friendly and helpful. Food always fresh and hot and tasty! The owner is heavily involved in the community and this establishment has become part of my family's gameday routine when attending Peters TWP sports, after the game we usually end up here for some great food!
